Women's Basketball Falls to Five Towns

Women's Basketball Falls to Five Towns

The King's College Women's Basketball Team lost 51-50 in a heartbreaking overtime game with Five Towns College. Senior captain Anna Eaves led the way for King's with a double double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Lions have played well to start the 2017-18 season, but their shooting slump continued to haunt them in this game. King's attempted 101 shots compared to 62 by Five Towns, and the Lady Lions forced Five Towns into 39 turnovers, but still came up short on the scoreboard.

Freshman Donyanna Sanders had 9 points and 6 rebounds while senior guard Kylie Locklar had 9 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Megan Starnes had 2 points and 6 rebounds while freshman Bailey Kaufman had a double double with 10 points and 10 steals. Senior Kara Simmons came off the bench with 7 points and 8 rebounds and freshman Chantel McFarland continued her strong work on the glass with 11 rebounds. Freshman Madison Carter had 4 rebounds for King's.

NEXT UP: The team will finish up final exams and break for Christmas. They return to the court in the new year when they visit the College of New Rochelle on January 17.
